Basically its about a rocket powder one could buy back then, that went into a engine tube strapped to a model airplane. (effectively a J.A.T.O./R.A.T.O)

HOW to EXPERIMENT With ROCKET SHIPS (Feb, 1930)

    Non fire, paper popper/banger/cracker

    July 4th, 2011

To continue the tradition of celebrating Independence day, in a safe way, but also respecting the fire danger and such we are facing in the drought parched southwest.

All you need is a nice bit of paper! And its easy to refold and use over and over again! takes a bit of arm speed so might not ve good for little kids, but then again most noisemakers/fireworks are not to be used by children under 8.

The following video has been marked as not being embedded, so I give you the simple youtube link.

Have a fun 4th of July!

    May 16th, 2011

These fine folks at See Yourself Teaching did a very nice blogpost on how Quelab’s public events are an example of one form of teaching while having fun.  Thy have done and are continuing to do a lot for the mindset of teaching and education here in NM and hopefully for the world.  They are also frequent co-sponsors of events like Ignite-NM!
