Hello Hackers!
There is an order being organized on Facebook, the Quelab Forums and in a gSpreadsheet to Adafruit and Mouser. If sufficient interest is gathered, we can also do a similar transaction with Sparkfun, DigiKey, Jameco, Solarbotics or Pololu.
If you have a need for some components, [...]
Greetings Makers!
Our little hiccup with the Electrical company have been ironed out, and power has been restored to Quelab! Cue the maniacal laughter.
We at the Lab had a Segate DockStar kicking around, taking up space. I had been looking for a tiny NAS to run some home storage things, so a donation to the kitty later and away I go. However, I couldn’t put my 2.5″ PATA adapter onto it stock, so it needed a [...]

A while back, We got a ChipKIT box in the mail. Hmm, I thought: What could I do with such an interesting little device? I was mentally gone the entire month of november, due to working a major local event. So, after coming back to my senses I asked “What’s the catch?”

Photos of the boxes we got here, https://secure.flickr.com/photos/quelabnm/tags/chipkit/show/
The chipKit has a similar form-factor to [...]
Friends, Hackers, Nerds! Lend me your ears … or at least spare me a few moments of reading.
Nikola Tesla was the father of the electric age. Despite having drop-kicked humanity into a second industrial revolution, up until recently he’s been an unsung hero in history books. If you don’t know who Tesla is, go [...]

I just whipped up this LED tester tonight while at the lab. The two probes provide just the right power for a single normal LED. I built it because I need a way to test tiny surface mount LEDs.
I plan on leaving it at the lab for everyone to use. Keep in [...]
After a few of us discovered how needlessly complicated many of the setup guides were for Debian/Ubuntu systems, we decided to do a quick tutorial on the steps to get started with Arduino as a public service.
Quick install directions for people using a Debian based LINUX distro, like Ubuntu:
sudo apt-get install [...]
