Post Equipment Donations?

I assume that the Quelab doesn't want to become a dumping ground, but I'm curious what the level of interest would be in equipment donations, ranging from:

* Boring (usb / serial / audio / video cables, cf cards, cf readers)
* Less Boring (microphones)
* Moderately Interesting (hand-held GPS with serial output, bench power supply)
* Kinda Cool (Bushnell 450 telescope)

If the answer is "none", maybe the Quelab could sponsor a regular swap meet - my main goal is to find good homes for hackable stuff.

Cheers,
Tim

Indeed, we dont want to be a dumping ground, but your junk does indeed sound better than alot of the junk we have had dumped. (the 110lb 5u sun servers...

We have tried to have a regularly scheduled swapmeet/yardsale twice a year, but sofar this year the timing has really sucked. we just need to pick a day and do it.

im going to hold off on saying yay or nay on the mentioned stuff. try to get a few of the lurkers out and answering. but none the less thanks for offering, and we will try to keep you posted on the next clean out your junk swap meets!

I'd say that we have plenty of cables.
But... from CF on up sound interesting to me.

What size CF cards/readers do you have? We could certainly use
one or two (no more) SDHC to micro-sd cards and readers. Adric's camera only uses up to 2G. I have some arduino projects for which a few megs on SDHC would be appreciated.

I don't need microphones, but a few might be used. I'd appreciate a smaller bench power supply. I wouldn't use the GPS, but that seems interesting. We are looking at small, low power GPS modules for use with microcontrollers..

Sorry to pile on here, but I'm looking to donate a P4 machine (my office is decommissioning it), are you guys interested or do you know a good computer recycler or nonprofit who could use it?

I'd be happy to install xubuntu on it for a nonprofit.
